Jock Itch

Jock itch is made by a fungus that sets up on your skin. It’s name is tinea cruris & it’s related to athlete’s foot. Jocks aren’t the only people who get jock itch–men who sweat a lot can also get it,  sometimes women as well will contract it.

Overview

This fungus likes to grow & live in the warm, moist parts of the groin area, the insides of the legs. The rash makes the area itch and burn, causes the skin to become chaffed & sometimes crack or peel.

Treatment

To help or cure jock itch, you can buy sprays or lotions accessible at a drugstore over the counter. In some cases, your doctor may need to prescribe stronger medication to kill the fungus–a cream, spray or pill.

Reoccurring infections are a common symptom of stress or and occasionally of suppressed immune function. If jock itch is a comon problem, consult your doctor. Eating a lot of garlic or taking garlic capsules sometimes inhibits the growth of fungus.

Some options are to make changes to your diet. Using pesticide free vegetables, yeast free products & little to no sugar can positively affect your condition. Not drinking alcohol–since alcohol finally turns to dextrose (Sugar)–will also help.

Prevention

You can help stop jock itch by keeping the area clean & Free of moisture. Take time to dry your private area & inner legs after showering, bathing or going for a swim. Make sure your workout clothes or sports outfits fit you correctly & don’t irritate the skin in the private’s area. If you wear a cup, be sure to wash it regularly.

To help stop jock itch, you can apply cornstarch or special drying powders on the rash a few times a day These are both accessible bought over the counter.
